Hopefully that will be changing soon. </p><p>Also likely going forward I will only be posting previews here as I don't really like facebook and google both being run by censorship happy perverts and pedoes. </p><p>For now here is a test pic of my wip Imperial Ogre mercenaries.</p><p>(you can also see I've been going crazy with the 3d printer)</p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiCXqypiYFPB1OiF1cnQ-X_5UjJxJb-9Tsd1XSLDAClEwyKegqVopncETCEn68E2lxnn7BDcKmKNyXSUI5O4p9QEUCkJPcjNS5e-Y7Z6wetFuvYn1OSMygOMUOzfUnfUrGZcbVJ3qvxAsOavSekRz8Q1Er6wZANzI6t0Hq1Kc-Ei5BQ15h2yhfqBuSHZw=s4160" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1920" data-original-width="4160" height="290" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiCXqypiYFPB1OiF1cnQ-X_5UjJxJb-9Tsd1XSLDAClEwyKegqVopncETCEn68E2lxnn7BDcKmKNyXSUI5O4p9QEUCkJPcjNS5e-Y7Z6wetFuvYn1OSMygOMUOzfUnfUrGZcbVJ3qvxAsOavSekRz8Q1Er6wZANzI6t0Hq1Kc-Ei5BQ15h2yhfqBuSHZw=w629-h290" width="629" /></a></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hopefully I will be back soon.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Orcyboy-</div><br /><div dir="auto" style="background-color: white; color: #050505; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></div>Orcyboyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11162039510007495268noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4538295789295592481.post-32763549984301457402019-12-24T01:30:00.001-08:002019-12-24T01:38:14.530-08:00Highlanders and mountain folkThe great mountains surrounding the empire of men are full of fierce monsters, goblinoids of all sorts and bitter weather.<br />
Few men choose to live under such conditions but those that do are as rugged as the mountains and as fierce as the beasts that surround them not to mention generally drunk on a variety of distilled liquors.<br />
Some are mere bandits and ruffians no better then Goblins and Orcs but most are god fearing men and make hardy allies for both the dwarves of the mountains and the mighty realms of men.<br />
<br />
Here is my envisioning of a band of Grey Mountain highlanders. Made from the the Oathmark generic humans. I was tempted, as most people seem to be, to change their shields out with rounds ones. However I decided to stick with the square shields as the shape is a little reminiscent of the square Pictish shields that shows up in art work. Painted in lots of yellows, greens and some plaids with an aim of giving them a more generic Celtic/Gaelic look with a fantasy flare. Added a few heads from Fireforge miniatures and their captain and bagpiper are from <a href="https://antediluvianminiatures.wordpress.com/2018/02/07/shop-historical-range/" target="_blank">Antediluvian Miniatures</a> Galloglass.<br />

I have a second unit of these fantasy Highlanders I am working on using FireForge Scandinavians. Given the holidays are slowing progress down a bit hopefully in the next month or two I'll have them finished.<br />
<br />
<br />
Since I had them out, here's a quick pic of the Perry Miniatures medieval cottage. Its a nice model but a little bit too pricey for what you get. The smaller houses in the background are from Renendra, nifty little models and much better priced.<br />

Mostly <a href="http://knightmareminiatures.com/category/green-skin-wars" target="_blank">Knightmare Games </a>but a few other manufacturers as well.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The fantastic fellow in the middle is from <a href="http://www.fouraminiatures.com/" target="_blank">4A Miniatures</a> and one of my favorites. His no-nonsense expression certainly commands respect.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP72sCt6P0Czu1Qo6RIz7_NGEh5BWtwWjk8h8-VUcwdEsIykHMUqDCTr1cge5pixnmcTlLMAONHCLWwwH8TGnYx63BI0ciZFvLk-3AaCCl3-dEJJvmpthtuD579sI16WYxg3iR7imxK2lx/s1600/Gheroes1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="918" data-original-width="1224" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP72sCt6P0Czu1Qo6RIz7_NGEh5BWtwWjk8h8-VUcwdEsIykHMUqDCTr1cge5pixnmcTlLMAONHCLWwwH8TGnYx63BI0ciZFvLk-3AaCCl3-dEJJvmpthtuD579sI16WYxg3iR7imxK2lx/s320/Gheroes1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
A couple more <a href="http://knightmareminiatures.com/category/green-skin-wars" target="_blank">Knightmare Games</a> goblins. Excellent examples of Kev 'Goblinmaster' Adams excellent work. If Frazetta ever painted heroic goblins I'd imagine they'd look exactly like the fella with the axe, I'm sure he stole that helmet from Thulsa Doom himself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSFUhiXgA8n7sPXq7QqNfF7YOUVcu2XNp5eLtG9xAq7_m-Ji398d2hEH24qL94Zcvgd9i_BGsJTUvDWmZ2u5VcB4UQV3fdEuOjqaCyg-PwCG8Mpme12XBg7U3FzxP228OcKEtsughe8Ss_/s1600/Gheroes2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="614" data-original-width="647" height="303" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSFUhiXgA8n7sPXq7QqNfF7YOUVcu2XNp5eLtG9xAq7_m-Ji398d2hEH24qL94Zcvgd9i_BGsJTUvDWmZ2u5VcB4UQV3fdEuOjqaCyg-PwCG8Mpme12XBg7U3FzxP228OcKEtsughe8Ss_/s320/Gheroes2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I call him the stag hunter. This is a formerly Heart Breaker (Tim Prow) goblin now reproduced in resin by <a href="https://www.impactminiatures.com/index.php?option=heartbreaker" target="_blank">Impact! miniatures</a>. A good sharp miniature and another one of my favorites with his outrageous antlers and giant sword. Definitely not the sort of gobbo to mess with.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE0mmBuMI0KA4FhxU5gybMTbdm_hhG60epqZbRS4pwgSg0IWdOuBoWOOHvj9sgGYARMYZ6g2ry0ipy_iaWG9aRo3NaiF_5W-MxnaE8cnBbQj0KSotgzJYu-F1GO_e3FBy8SzH_URyYCIu7/s1600/Gheroes3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="638" data-original-width="425" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE0mmBuMI0KA4FhxU5gybMTbdm_hhG60epqZbRS4pwgSg0IWdOuBoWOOHvj9sgGYARMYZ6g2ry0ipy_iaWG9aRo3NaiF_5W-MxnaE8cnBbQj0KSotgzJYu-F1GO_e3FBy8SzH_URyYCIu7/s320/Gheroes3.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
An exceptionally well armored goblin with his pet squigly beast. Painted in bronze as he reminds me of some old Homeric aged warrior. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJbNst_Y-xWApWkHzSpDmtNhKipvMwca1zPQcx6Sqqy3l5WvXbzu5xUNxpp0yJOSjW7rQvRVGdSi_M3EKW4u9wAJ0nOppPi3ezGGKQVlF4E2rPVohZhp-uzZJRzu1JhMtHZSPQMTI6Cl6Y/s1600/Gheroes4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="549" data-original-width="852" height="206" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJbNst_Y-xWApWkHzSpDmtNhKipvMwca1zPQcx6Sqqy3l5WvXbzu5xUNxpp0yJOSjW7rQvRVGdSi_M3EKW4u9wAJ0nOppPi3ezGGKQVlF4E2rPVohZhp-uzZJRzu1JhMtHZSPQMTI6Cl6Y/s320/Gheroes4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Another quirky gobbo and his squig hound picked up with the <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wolfbaneart/shieldwall-fine-shields-for-your-minatures" target="_blank">Shield Wall kickstarter</a>. Despite being resin he's quite a nice miniature. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghATJVtgUfIolYyv52kJ7KEYJRGAACZSgfWQDDxoAOZ4zLhwfg0Heq5zM2NBrCYR7IX5IdfC1Z-CXEdO5uZibxIjA4buktAkK829FNv3KrJXf-UQ9x8o_Pn0qr7fD11YIIKqIolYTwwCZO/s1600/Gheroes7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="625" height="294" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghATJVtgUfIolYyv52kJ7KEYJRGAACZSgfWQDDxoAOZ4zLhwfg0Heq5zM2NBrCYR7IX5IdfC1Z-CXEdO5uZibxIjA4buktAkK829FNv3KrJXf-UQ9x8o_Pn0qr7fD11YIIKqIolYTwwCZO/s320/Gheroes7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
A Harlequin/Black Tree Design goblin shaman and another Knightmare Games goblin. I wasn't impressed with the shaman until after I painted him. He turned out quite nice and is now one of my favorite goblin shaman models. This picture doesn't quite bring out much of his details. </div>
<div>
As for the samurai gobbo, I have a handful of eastern and samurai styled goblins but this one is easily my favorite. Not sure if thats supposed to be his natural face or if he's wearing a <a href="https://duckduckgo.com/?q=samurai+face+menpo&atb=v149-1&iax=images&ia=images" target="_blank">menpo</a>, so either he's wearing face armor or he's painted his face to look like he's wearing face armor.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivok5bX_1sHm9CcpuMjzhzotQ3ac6e5FySyGdyoFRM6X_v57QocTzhNe5PsCBgt1LiCMsmF5KoW4MZzMqBqjempTFTduz-MhV0jw5jQBkRRDO-A0uDdJ1jg_2XEp8AEonlUVsPQ-h1DXrN/s1600/Gheroes5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="782" data-original-width="736" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivok5bX_1sHm9CcpuMjzhzotQ3ac6e5FySyGdyoFRM6X_v57QocTzhNe5PsCBgt1LiCMsmF5KoW4MZzMqBqjempTFTduz-MhV0jw5jQBkRRDO-A0uDdJ1jg_2XEp8AEonlUVsPQ-h1DXrN/s320/Gheroes5.jpg" width="301" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
A nice champion with a commanding pose and a wonderfully gobliny shield. The usual excellent work of Kev Adams for Knightmare Games.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjurDzyc_NWjXV4ngmWU3BqfEeqxNAObs6Es2eyRco_zMLbyh7bcis2Al8f-SACGGI0PvdBt7onHm7gTRz28DomebYAgJjg-O9xusWPC8WQhb9XY-2IBoTC9RHccxGG3OoEFdiDT94SXlat/s1600/Gheroes6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="511" data-original-width="721" height="226" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjurDzyc_NWjXV4ngmWU3BqfEeqxNAObs6Es2eyRco_zMLbyh7bcis2Al8f-SACGGI0PvdBt7onHm7gTRz28DomebYAgJjg-O9xusWPC8WQhb9XY-2IBoTC9RHccxGG3OoEFdiDT94SXlat/s320/Gheroes6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<br /></div>
<div>
And last a goblin hero to help lead my considerable and ever expanding wolf rider legions.</div>

<br />
But occasionally after surviving a few battles through luck and uncharacteristic courage (mostly luck though) a few Goblins find themselves with the skills and prestige necessary to make a living as professional soldiers to a degree.<br />
<br />
Occasionally these "fearless" Goblins band together under the leadership of some famed Goblin hero and ply their trade as mercenaries.<br />
<br />
Here we have Mad Mic'Alexon and the Black Iron brigade. Have peasants that need subduing, they can help. Halflings that need extorting, they can help. Luggage needs guarded, they can help. Yeah, don't expect too much from these guys, they are still Goblins after all.<br />
<br />
The Black Iron brigade are arrayed in pieced together heavy armor with large extravagant helmets being particularly prized and they are drilled in the use of the halberd in imitation of the soldiers of the realms of men.<br />

<br />
Most of these guys are from <a href="http://knightmareminiatures.com/" target="_blank">Knightmaregames</a> line of Greenskin Wars goblins. A few are from other sources such as <a href="http://www.fouraminiatures.com/" target="_blank">Four A Miniatures</a>, Rafm and Citadel. A few are sad plastic Gobbos I greenstuffed some extra armor onto to push the head count of the unit up to 30.<br />
<br />
Thanks for looking, more coming soon.<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Back in the beginning of this blog I first posted these guys. This is my primary regiment of standard everyday Goblins that I've run with for years. And for years they've only numbered at <a href="https://oldorcsneverdie.blogspot.com/2012/10/whats-blog-without-picture-to-get-it.html" target="_blank">30 troopers</a>. I finally got around to re-organizing them. Pulled a few out to join other upcoming units and padded up the unit to a head count of 42 Gobbos now.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
42 looks and feels much better the 30. </div>

For this interested here's links to the previous wolfrider units completed:<br />
<a href="https://oldorcsneverdie.blogspot.com/2019/05/more-wolfriders.html">https://oldorcsneverdie.blogspot.com/2019/05/more-wolfriders.html</a><br />

<br />
These guys should be the last of my Citadel and Marauder wolfriders I have kicking about and are a little bit of a hodgepodge. Mostly just basic goblins with hand weapons and shields and I can split 5 or 6 off into their own unit with short bows.<br />
<br />
No name for these guys yet.<br />

After more then 25 years I finally got the band together. I originally bought these guys when they first came out (1991?) but unfortunately I got a little screwed as my pack was missing the fist pump guy but came with an extra guitarist (bassist?).<br />
<br />
A couple year ago I manage to get a hold of the missing dude and this past weekend I painted him up in time to celebrate Orktober.<br />
<br />
Sorry, no time for good pics, the phone camera will have to suffice for now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
Shame they never made a proper drummer for the band, but I'm sure I can rummage something up before next Orktober.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The past couple months have actually been pretty productive. I've finished off another unit of wolf riders, expanded my old unit of Goblin infantry from 30 to 42, finished a unit of armored elite Goblins, various terrain and about 10 or so Goblin heroes and what-nots. I just don't have the time to properly take pics. Hopefully the middle of next month I can find some time.<br />
<br />
<br />
For the next few months I'm putting the greenskins aside to work on my Border Princes mercenary army. Since I've got the camera phone out here's sneak peak of what I'm working one. I'm going for a generic celtic/gaelic look.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVLGZIO4maDWdwBOZ4rTfM9pd7N0hkcBWS9ooAGzYvD7GEPLpTlSnVw9TyEAtJcgVGcJVE8H7U1aVZfBroIzmvNj207fjeweEhASPJ4zdESP6bjFnys6Isu0ztEiGWDF7gvHS4YJBFKTjA/s1600/20191023_141636.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVLGZIO4maDWdwBOZ4rTfM9pd7N0hkcBWS9ooAGzYvD7GEPLpTlSnVw9TyEAtJcgVGcJVE8H7U1aVZfBroIzmvNj207fjeweEhASPJ4zdESP6bjFnys6Isu0ztEiGWDF7gvHS4YJBFKTjA/s320/20191023_141636.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
These are the Oathmark infantry with a few head swaps from various Fireforge plastics. The couple command figures are Galloglass by Antidiluvian miniatures I think.<br />
<br />
Thanks for looking and have a happy and safe Halloween.<br />

The Orc chariot is pieced together from left over job lots. The Goblin chariot is the old <a href="http://www.solegends.com/citmd/md01gkingschariot.htm" target="_blank">Goblin King Chariot</a>, however the Goblin king himself went missing and replaced by an appropriately mean looking gobbo.<br />

<br />
I also finally finished painting a big Orc hut that's been kicking about my hobby desk for ten years half finished. Not great work but its done. Also added about eight more Orcs to my <a href="http://oldorcsneverdie.blogspot.com/2018/02/the-village-people.html" target="_blank">levied villager unit</a>. These are really my paint jobs, I just cleaned up the chipped paint and re-did their bases to match mine.<br />

The huts are from <a href="http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2671" target="_blank">Scotia Grendal's 'Goblin Stronghold' </a>set, with the taller tower huts created by simply stacking them up. To help bulk them out a little I based the huts either individually or in multiples together and built fences and gardens around them to help give a lived in feel.<br />
<br />
Most of the goblin villagers are from <a href="http://www.fouraminiatures.com/" target="_blank">Four A Miniatures</a> with a few citadel mixed in and a reaper Bones pig cart.<br />
<br />

Hello!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
I have gotten a few things painted over the past couple months I just can't find the time to take proper pictures.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
However, this morning I was messing around with a job lot of goblins in desperate need of repairs. I am a sucker for cheap ebay auctions of busted up minis. Anyways, I finally found a use for all those Reaper Bones models I have laying about. I must admit I am a little disappointed in many of the Bones models with the exception of the larger models and the price point, but they do prune easily enough.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And now I have seven more proper (mostly metal) Goblins on the painting line.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidC1jWPuu_r1o1CCtiaaZ0ITrQZpPhXPOh7zdetjKbLCUqp1THdCk14axRveADlNFxA_Z7RVQLiHOiP_tIjTqZ1MQueliz1FecVzyi7CxkpTJhSAnh2nYKC1MFKBT0zYSUMVn9-xA_jbYR/s1600/BoneParts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="521" data-original-width="941" height="177" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidC1jWPuu_r1o1CCtiaaZ0ITrQZpPhXPOh7zdetjKbLCUqp1THdCk14axRveADlNFxA_Z7RVQLiHOiP_tIjTqZ1MQueliz1FecVzyi7CxkpTJhSAnh2nYKC1MFKBT0zYSUMVn9-xA_jbYR/s320/BoneParts.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Hopefully some pics of painted minis coming soon.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
By for now!</div>

They patrol the woods and mountain passes, forming the first line of defense against the incursions greenskins.<br />
<br />
The group is made up of all my odds and ends carrying bows or hunting crossbows.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih9u0rEFG9jemGvO9VBKPUX9cw5R30KTqMfcheSEA5v-U910gfiaOKhwOk6nRGj2FDGKd9ApM11NLWfeo68eW-BngP6FQPpfXrbvaoQNVsDELeclbQog3JMv9Y6KjyzbLK-kF5BOUpKkyG/s1600/hRangers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="623" data-original-width="957" height="208" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih9u0rEFG9jemGvO9VBKPUX9cw5R30KTqMfcheSEA5v-U910gfiaOKhwOk6nRGj2FDGKd9ApM11NLWfeo68eW-BngP6FQPpfXrbvaoQNVsDELeclbQog3JMv9Y6KjyzbLK-kF5BOUpKkyG/s320/hRangers.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
I rounded off the unit with some of the new Oathmark humans. A nice kit of generic fighters and they make pretty good looking rangers types in my opinion<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbFsDgN0nOgE1LHncRHSv_YJTDxcwwSxPT0tt_vo2P3CddJhoPahp4Myz1Rg0JbA32To8rUBuZe6OmLNf3FoZ3zO8m8kXQevPTYz2J0V_yvxSb6gVm1mSpZj26YiFXNM8aHaio6KwIab1L/s1600/hrangers2Oathmark.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="534" data-original-width="934" height="182" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbFsDgN0nOgE1LHncRHSv_YJTDxcwwSxPT0tt_vo2P3CddJhoPahp4Myz1Rg0JbA32To8rUBuZe6OmLNf3FoZ3zO8m8kXQevPTYz2J0V_yvxSb6gVm1mSpZj26YiFXNM8aHaio6KwIab1L/s320/hrangers2Oathmark.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Some of my favorites here. From the left we have an Asgard/Viking Forge (Sternbow), a Citadel AD&D Ranger, Citadel Boromir (the new line) and another Citadel AD&D ranger.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis0WdAzHkCY9NlTUOo2LH1pPjn9QYWzEHW8HuWovDX-uWMIxcujvk-7RjDDt_NWGPtg312A3ZZhdMVCs5BNolcbyzO8WUaARLing62YJ0-BytI2zLJovYLYhvFpnE-pNlmSFmIVBsM1IlI/s1600/hRangers3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="426" data-original-width="851" height="160" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis0WdAzHkCY9NlTUOo2LH1pPjn9QYWzEHW8HuWovDX-uWMIxcujvk-7RjDDt_NWGPtg312A3ZZhdMVCs5BNolcbyzO8WUaARLing62YJ0-BytI2zLJovYLYhvFpnE-pNlmSFmIVBsM1IlI/s320/hRangers3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
More favorites. All three are Citadel, the Indian (I call him chief Falling Rocks) and the mountain man on the right are two of my favorite Citadel pieces and make perfect rangers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkLHyY_o_EtefTFMuDWhruV7t7qa9FuQh61Blx8a0iRuS3bmkrvd0opo8gtGigfNM1aFRQLkan1oWHHhbdoud5RgDlqyEcQjglX5m3eOqirB8oDuCYi_gM6ZRrhtuIYKqdAPFY__E1AK9K/s1600/hRangers4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="470" data-original-width="759" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkLHyY_o_EtefTFMuDWhruV7t7qa9FuQh61Blx8a0iRuS3bmkrvd0opo8gtGigfNM1aFRQLkan1oWHHhbdoud5RgDlqyEcQjglX5m3eOqirB8oDuCYi_gM6ZRrhtuIYKqdAPFY__E1AK9K/s320/hRangers4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I believe the chap on the left is from Grenadier, the dwarfess is a Reaper bones (Dwarf or just a full figured lass?) and the lad on the right is an old Tom Meier/Ral Partha elf.<br />

I believe these are Ral Partha, two of which are from their old Dragonlance line. I'm not sure who makes the Robinhood looking fellow.<br />

I also picked up a new scenery piece from a Hobby Lobby discount bin. Its one of those garden fairy decoration pieces but I think it fits in fine as a fantasy tree house and scales nicely.<br />

<br />
A couple weeks ago the Mad Viking graciously sent me a Sister of Sigmar for commenting on one of his videos.<br />
<br />
So I painting her. And that was all the inspiration I needed to finish painting off the few other Sisters Ive had kicking about.<br />
<br />
The Bertha Bestraufrung I've had painted for a while and she's usually used as a warrior priestess in my Stirland army. I painted them in green rather then the traditional red to help match in with my Stirland army (Daughters of Freya?).<br />

The Mad Viking has inherited the massive collection Steveb a long
time member of the warhammer-empire.com. The Mad Viking has taken on
the incredible task of documenting and sharing Steve's massive
collection. If your a fan of old school miniatures, massive painted
armies, oldhammer, middlehammer etc, I highly recommend taking a look
and subscribing to his youtube channel.<br />

<br />
There's 27 of them. Not sure why I didn't just round up to 30 when I bought them but oh well. Maybe if Lancer Miniatures ever adds anything else to their catalog of interest I'll pick up three more.<br />
<br />
So here they are 27 brutish meat headed Orcs.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
A few of the new ones I painted since my last post.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4kQ7FYefv1y9c5t9zV27gnN5hApFd4hw9xV3Ew1YxYSSY-qPsqZ6MWFnHhKnSKdPU7yabiGKmEnZbIq0Zz0RsruiWrFkHV_aiGa0DZ0zU8oOWJIU1GE_MoNPuqlqNMqK9IFH7_Yre07xr/s1600/lancerGroup2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="557" data-original-width="858" height="207" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4kQ7FYefv1y9c5t9zV27gnN5hApFd4hw9xV3Ew1YxYSSY-qPsqZ6MWFnHhKnSKdPU7yabiGKmEnZbIq0Zz0RsruiWrFkHV_aiGa0DZ0zU8oOWJIU1GE_MoNPuqlqNMqK9IFH7_Yre07xr/s320/lancerGroup2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I tried out some test plaid on a few of them. I definitely need to work some more on that.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Lancer Miniature OrcsI took a step away from goblins for the month and knocked out a handful of Orcs from Lancer Miniatures.<br />
I bumped into these guys a couple times on the internet and I think I was vaguely aware of their kickstarter a little while back but about a month or so ago folks started posting their pictures of these guys painted up and that was all the inspiration I needed to buy a bunch. Not to mention they are affordable imo and they are METAL!<br />
<br />
They can be found here if you're interested:<br />
<a href="https://lancerminiatures.com/product-category/28mm/28mm-orcs/">https://lancerminiatures.com/product-category/28mm/28mm-orcs/</a><br />
<br />
I quite like these guys. They are big beefy Orcs probably closer in style to what GW was putting out with their plastic kits in the late 90's and aughts but with a little less exaggeration. The sculpting is good, not knock your socks off good but detailed and interesting enough to give them a lot of charm.<br />
<br />
I've only had time to finish 11 of them so far, enough to show off for Orctober. Hopefully I'll get the rest finished up next month.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
A quick size comparison with some older orcs. They are a smidgen taller and thicker arms. They'd probably make excellent big'uns but I suspect I'll just use them as regular old Orc boys.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
(The Orcs to the left and right of the centered black Orc are Lancer Miniatures)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
That's it until next month. Happy Halloween!</div>

<br />
These guys for now will be the core of my Goblin cavalry. Kitted out with light armor, spears and shields they are the closest thing my Goblins have to heavy cavalry.<br />
<br />
I still have a couple more units of wolf riders to complete but for now they'll have to wait until after Orctober.<br />
<br />

<br />
I finished up my Goblin rocket team or rather "skyrocket" as its refereed to in 3rd edition. Nice little model, easy to paint up which provided a quick little interlude while I sort out and clean up all my wolf riders.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm a little at odds with a couple of the goblins, while I like the miniatures in general Im not too keen on the binoculars and goggles a little too WoW for me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Finished up this here regiment of Heartbreaker goblins and despite the numbers and lack of diversity I quite enjoyed them. I believe these are all Kevin Adams sculpts and for the most part quite nice if a bit heavily armored for goblins. <br />
Normally when painting large units containing mostly the same miniatures I try and vary the color of skin tones, armor and clothes etc but for these guys I just painted them pretty much all in uniform and glad I did. I actually found it relaxing plugging away at these guys without having to put much forethought into each of them. The bases were a slog to paint though.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
42 nasty well armed and armored goblins. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The bulk of the regiment is made up these two fellas. Very difficult to rank up, unfortunately I had to split the unit pretty much down the middle to get them to rank up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_tRxmzqfaRj4cz7aQUI01ZK1vBU2nkCH5O9_MgEisDXN-zLSpxBH-WnnyMR38AUjZHVoFiouTk1pA97mJgIZSf4MfeDKA2v4GdIBfQ_eBYkHpanIoawwyK5pYGuYgf_dfJmT4z-vtFL-p/s1600/HBgoblintroops2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="279" data-original-width="867" height="102" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_tRxmzqfaRj4cz7aQUI01ZK1vBU2nkCH5O9_MgEisDXN-zLSpxBH-WnnyMR38AUjZHVoFiouTk1pA97mJgIZSf4MfeDKA2v4GdIBfQ_eBYkHpanIoawwyK5pYGuYgf_dfJmT4z-vtFL-p/s320/HBgoblintroops2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All of these guys are of course metal, with the exception of the one below on the left. I got him with Impact Miniatures recent kickstarter re-producing most of the old Heartbreaker models in resin or rather some kind of plastic/resin. He's not actually an exact copy of the original as he has armored boots and a flame etched onto his blade.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizl_yU2o1xZve4chHw8VwFmUYGE3qSHxlqd_tjvVQzD6G-Pc0G3Wx8LbvG6yf4bk5CIcUGZFxR5b_NoxjLQZH42hyphenhyphen0cndHFqXQjYnJ_Io61XMojw2Xz6HN4DZ4iWAR8A7OoFILWxvM2X-s/s1600/HBgoblinsdiff.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="385" data-original-width="741" height="166" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizl_yU2o1xZve4chHw8VwFmUYGE3qSHxlqd_tjvVQzD6G-Pc0G3Wx8LbvG6yf4bk5CIcUGZFxR5b_NoxjLQZH42hyphenhyphen0cndHFqXQjYnJ_Io61XMojw2Xz6HN4DZ4iWAR8A7OoFILWxvM2X-s/s320/HBgoblinsdiff.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I do have about a dozen gobbos made up of these guys to help break up some of that tedious uniformity.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQVDYjtraFHL-6FmhxCyTnh6f0dLEDK1drgY8vfNserjhYGBEGDZDFw0czMeE2BZNnvwzJWIF6DTW1qu8nB8NlMglPPUgK4jJ6rWD9eRNkzEyGtB-Fgdznp1EeRI9phAxz_yO5-DEetAsq/s1600/HBgoblintroops1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="330" data-original-width="850" height="124" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQVDYjtraFHL-6FmhxCyTnh6f0dLEDK1drgY8vfNserjhYGBEGDZDFw0czMeE2BZNnvwzJWIF6DTW1qu8nB8NlMglPPUgK4jJ6rWD9eRNkzEyGtB-Fgdznp1EeRI9phAxz_yO5-DEetAsq/s320/HBgoblintroops1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The command. A little bit of a skull fetish..</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW_dC-bb4Cq6wjCUq6hhY2fVK1pNSdtqXvyQVlbvFtDDgVv_VR3dUOP5Ila18AlFi0Ft7YK4T2cUbFpO6MZGhnh4JnthXXHiqxXK_4TB8uDaMLJ4-pGRUT0QmfIBvS3Lb10r3h-zKh8dWX/s1600/HBgoblinscommand.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="525" data-original-width="786" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW_dC-bb4Cq6wjCUq6hhY2fVK1pNSdtqXvyQVlbvFtDDgVv_VR3dUOP5Ila18AlFi0Ft7YK4T2cUbFpO6MZGhnh4JnthXXHiqxXK_4TB8uDaMLJ4-pGRUT0QmfIBvS3Lb10r3h-zKh8dWX/s320/HBgoblinscommand.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
So onto the next project.<br />
I think I'll be working on sorting out my wolf riders. I believe I now have enough metal wolves to get things moving along. The only thing I hate more than the old plastic wolves is the old plastic boars. But anyhow I should now have enough metal wolves to swap out my 90's wolf riders with proper mounts.<br />

Bye for now!Orcyboyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11162039510007495268noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4538295789295592481.post-77482638038095658512018-06-05T14:44:00.003-07:002018-06-05T20:30:36.531-07:00Half year review 2018So way back in October or November of last year I tried jumping on the <a href="http://oldworldarmychallenge.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Oldhammer painting challenge</a> and although I didn't actually enter, I have endeavored to follow the rules or at least the spirit of the challenge and get myself some painting done these past 6-8 months.<br />
<br />
Last night I did a quick photo shoot of everything I've finished painted since roughly last Novembor.<br />
<br />
Here's my "army" laid out on my new FLG gaming mat. Not exactly a "legal" army by <i>Warhammer Armies </i>supplement standards but that's not what I was shooting for and frankly the beauty of 3rd edition was its open interpretation of the rules. A good case in point is my goblin slingers unit. Not a normal troop type in the Warhammer Armies supplement but I fancy them used as skirmishing slingers rather then proxies for goblin stickas with shortbows.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The "army" so far:</div>

<br />
While rummaging through my considerable number of un-painted gobbos a few months ago I found I had 8 slingers in the mix and that got me thinking. Add a command and we're at 11 and I just need 9 more to make a proper unit. After a few conversions and a couple oddballs tossed in I've got myself a proper unit of 20 Gobbo slingers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_PHw5Fi35o4G13aDaqUAG8VzB3acfw9Up1wf204IV09BaYTpVNHqv3QSGpbrsLhnlHlx9_2uP5s-T0bmSQUCDEVM6u3cGIv5Am2HCgziZF_B5mQCoYvdM4MepA_i5lM00i1q4cFFipuLV/s1600/goblinslingersunit1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="398" data-original-width="761" height="167" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_PHw5Fi35o4G13aDaqUAG8VzB3acfw9Up1wf204IV09BaYTpVNHqv3QSGpbrsLhnlHlx9_2uP5s-T0bmSQUCDEVM6u3cGIv5Am2HCgziZF_B5mQCoYvdM4MepA_i5lM00i1q4cFFipuLV/s320/goblinslingersunit1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
As far as I can tell there were only three slingers released in the main Goblin line or at least thats all I can find in the 1988 catalog. The one in the middle and on the right must be fairly common as I have multiples of them. I also have to admit I've always had a soft spot for the one in the middle ever since I spotted him in the <a href="http://realmofchaos80s.blogspot.com/search/label/Heroes%20for%20Wargames" target="_blank">Heroes for Wargames</a> book years ago.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimJ59P8nR2Qt-Gt7S9EXNKusxs03Nils9uGNU2L2Yt07D4WXzBnZ-ynFuQyUMsxItjmJjF1LYJGZ4GWtb3U8ayxI1scnWGNKM6d__dwL9TzLHwbDDYPLFaK_sK0444FJGBOv5zDrIYTbo4/s1600/goblinslingersunit2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="336" data-original-width="675" height="159" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimJ59P8nR2Qt-Gt7S9EXNKusxs03Nils9uGNU2L2Yt07D4WXzBnZ-ynFuQyUMsxItjmJjF1LYJGZ4GWtb3U8ayxI1scnWGNKM6d__dwL9TzLHwbDDYPLFaK_sK0444FJGBOv5zDrIYTbo4/s320/goblinslingersunit2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
A few of the oddballs. The fella on the left is a 40k grot I'll probably replace if I come across something more suitable. The gob in the middle is a pre-slotta goblin with sling and fits in fine. The grinning fella on the right, well I suspect he has a sling, he just got a little confused when the boss told him to put his rocks in it (or maybe he knows exactly what he's doing idk).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgphudduNmA8Qli4ZqKHY7yv-fHj5Ak5LmwRs2NOFLnqB0j3Zw4o3Y8-Mur2XUVJik5ZdFcW-BhXQIMmdhH8OBb2v58972TSp8Kq8EkNy6BVVvlrv3zXAOhwjlAw70HEMffvt4Ag80x6ZfR/s1600/goblinlingersunit3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="306" data-original-width="558" height="175" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgphudduNmA8Qli4ZqKHY7yv-fHj5Ak5LmwRs2NOFLnqB0j3Zw4o3Y8-Mur2XUVJik5ZdFcW-BhXQIMmdhH8OBb2v58972TSp8Kq8EkNy6BVVvlrv3zXAOhwjlAw70HEMffvt4Ag80x6ZfR/s320/goblinlingersunit3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
A few minor conversions. I must have a dozen of the Marauder MM30 goblin with club (middle) and converted a handful for this project.<br />

<br />
The boss is one of my favorites from the Kevin Adams line of gobbos. A simple sculpt but the mutton chops and mustache lends him a natural air of authority (the spiked club helps too).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu1nQj0zAxqsPjPY5UrISruhq06Tixqf6ib1yqXebvx2iPBIvsKMuUDpAOVNQZTrvagv-UKk4FMP5xadoOpmPwOsBHqe7HKY0pBwwLpRY8eYot8X2Gprklv6M62B6ILtcuScBp2BsymeYh/s1600/goblinslingerscommand.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="432" data-original-width="687" height="201" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiu1nQj0zAxqsPjPY5UrISruhq06Tixqf6ib1yqXebvx2iPBIvsKMuUDpAOVNQZTrvagv-UKk4FMP5xadoOpmPwOsBHqe7HKY0pBwwLpRY8eYot8X2Gprklv6M62B6ILtcuScBp2BsymeYh/s320/goblinslingerscommand.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I also managed to paint up a Goblin shaman from the old Heartbreaker line I believe.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf8POmUlswsUYrC9dksJZtKkNQ9niGitLFRdlq6aXQFQvDSuvkcBQt1JJV2OHS-x5CD7ufJQ1CM3vea19etLqWn9yNGJIZU_OESTqt3u6AfJdmIkAzOt9FT1o9CuWlsJFPFVCRDJfQsdIe/s1600/goblinharliquinwizard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="537" data-original-width="434" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf8POmUlswsUYrC9dksJZtKkNQ9niGitLFRdlq6aXQFQvDSuvkcBQt1JJV2OHS-x5CD7ufJQ1CM3vea19etLqWn9yNGJIZU_OESTqt3u6AfJdmIkAzOt9FT1o9CuWlsJFPFVCRDJfQsdIe/s320/goblinharliquinwizard.jpg" width="258" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
So that's it for now. I'm not sure whats coming next I have another unit of Goblins I'd like to paint but things a busy around the compound again so it may be a while.<br />
<br />
'till next time- <br />
<br />Orcyboyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11162039510007495268noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4538295789295592481.post-69776169961490563972018-04-03T16:52:00.000-07:002018-04-05T20:54:43.032-07:00Last 10 Orcs finished. Mork's Mutilatorz complete!<br />
Ten new recruits have wondered down the valley to join the infamous Mork's Mutilatorz gang.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw_g6E1W7XBBF2-TmGfaLRKA7tQI_hKMHJxv8p9yA7OAeqop_supI8C7Rrx8_12FNuuDnDx1EyWCmUvS9vlLrVLLiQJk5flInlDI8m3gs1dRudsO4d0GKt7knUwDbyUhm2bwRXyfCzPfaJ/s1600/more+orcs+three+batch+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="407" data-original-width="1070" height="121" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw_g6E1W7XBBF2-TmGfaLRKA7tQI_hKMHJxv8p9yA7OAeqop_supI8C7Rrx8_12FNuuDnDx1EyWCmUvS9vlLrVLLiQJk5flInlDI8m3gs1dRudsO4d0GKt7knUwDbyUhm2bwRXyfCzPfaJ/s320/more+orcs+three+batch+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Finished these guys last week and finally got them photo'd up. A little rushed but they still came out pretty good. The fella with the mohawk helmet is one of my favorites.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
So that makes for a nice fat unit of thirty Orcs and no duplicates! Looks like the Mutilatorz gang is all set for a season of raiding a pillaging the local farmsteads.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJXD5EV61HtTFLjPtj5O7XIjwD_vwfN-Ni0uivAYwQBYOhGfGX-2iS5Pev81I6OCFsduOt_LAYW9nE0zv-qhKzjMYNp4yu3OwyDsXGofLlPB-jbrmdKRv1q-ISjWlwBd2C3_MywwX3tkMn/s1600/Gutrippers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="519" data-original-width="877" height="189" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJXD5EV61HtTFLjPtj5O7XIjwD_vwfN-Ni0uivAYwQBYOhGfGX-2iS5Pev81I6OCFsduOt_LAYW9nE0zv-qhKzjMYNp4yu3OwyDsXGofLlPB-jbrmdKRv1q-ISjWlwBd2C3_MywwX3tkMn/s320/Gutrippers.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
OK, on to the next project. I think my goblins need some attention now.<br />
<br />
Bye for now-Orcyboyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11162039510007495268noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4538295789295592481.post-50336048969677846522018-03-15T23:17:00.000-07:002018-03-15T23:17:22.876-07:00Ten more Orcs and 2 spear Chukkas'So ten more Orc boyz are done as I crawl towards what I hope to be a large unit of 30 Orcs. 20 down 10 to go.<br />
<br />
Some more examples of Kev Adams excellent 80's work.<br />
Though I'm not sure about the one second from the right as a Kevin design. I was a little unimpressed with him at first, he's smallish and sort of man-ish but he painted up well and I kind of like him now. The guy on the far right is one of my favorite designs. Some of you might recognize Bruglodd in there, he wont be part of the greater unit but he was in reaching distance when I was painting so he got the treatment. I'm thinking the banner depicts "Mork da' Kunnin" or maybe its Gork I don't know.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0ATJo8aGv3kS1m1YLkDtKCZM67jNLZ0OMdgF0isJLM3bpz-c9fEJgAccHO4iu3JtK-l1lK4slckOv05Bnn74YLk-grXW51dDMw8oLkx7eRKVKn-nsp78rOVPf0fzGrjqdMTfPaBiwuM5s/s1600/2+more+Orcs+5+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="548" data-original-width="810" height="216" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0ATJo8aGv3kS1m1YLkDtKCZM67jNLZ0OMdgF0isJLM3bpz-c9fEJgAccHO4iu3JtK-l1lK4slckOv05Bnn74YLk-grXW51dDMw8oLkx7eRKVKn-nsp78rOVPf0fzGrjqdMTfPaBiwuM5s/s320/2+more+Orcs+5+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And the next five. Nice models in general although the one on the far right has a face that is a bit miscast with what might be his left eye resting on his cheek.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOx2pq_41d80WN2W4YtACTAS5wv7UctcclRLSXcTo3GDQhQ6vh_4SwBbQ2nXHTy9poCKmwN-j0jlJ-4GTJbwgMqWYflVWyldP1-A_oPzHQb23v3wv6JIQX4-5stCen4ny-07kvgcMRofMJ/s1600/2+More+Orcs+5+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="408" data-original-width="858" height="152" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOx2pq_41d80WN2W4YtACTAS5wv7UctcclRLSXcTo3GDQhQ6vh_4SwBbQ2nXHTy9poCKmwN-j0jlJ-4GTJbwgMqWYflVWyldP1-A_oPzHQb23v3wv6JIQX4-5stCen4ny-07kvgcMRofMJ/s320/2+More+Orcs+5+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjibtjRvepMtBP7Jz4GwKCFC0EZ-_KUoT7LLZHBFgdJ0DM1ignUseF4DWkSm3aIOFn6RXfP6MYSiq602Ddkj2pbVWADUqS6XGFuqn0tObmffedFJ88JooaR_7U5IV6yMUE17IXSZHPFfVn-/s1600/2+More+Orcs+10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="655" data-original-width="989" height="211" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjibtjRvepMtBP7Jz4GwKCFC0EZ-_KUoT7LLZHBFgdJ0DM1ignUseF4DWkSm3aIOFn6RXfP6MYSiq602Ddkj2pbVWADUqS6XGFuqn0tObmffedFJ88JooaR_7U5IV6yMUE17IXSZHPFfVn-/s320/2+More+Orcs+10.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The completionist in me made me pick up these two spear chukkas. They are similar to the <a href="https://oldorcsneverdie.blogspot.com/2018/01/">Notlob bolt throwers</a> I previously shared except they are festooned with all sorts of furniture. I believe these were the Dwarf bolt throwers from the same period. Unfortunately I could only dig up enough crew for one of them at least for now.<br />

<br />
<br />
While taking pics I noticed one of the boyz had acquired himself a cute eight legged squigly beast. <br />

<br />
OK, so 10 more orcs to go.<br />
<br />
Bye for now- Orcyboyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11162039510007495268noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4538295789295592481.post-69164804978758951332018-03-05T22:39:00.001-08:002018-03-05T22:49:58.754-08:00Ten more Orcs and two more Trolls10 Orcs boyz and couple more trolls completed.<br />
<br />
I think I finally
got my Orc painting mojo back. The <a href="http://oldorcsneverdie.blogspot.com/2017/10/my-orctober-showcase.html">crossbow Orcs</a> I over blended their
greens, the <a href="http://oldorcsneverdie.blogspot.com/2018/02/the-village-people.html">villagers </a>I got bored and relied too much on dry brushing
but these guys came out just right sticking with bolder contrasts.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEEgOVTWJ3d3ymoIHox8xZnp6xwCc_Y9sZfLVUQTNQDNv8Kpj2Yy3JKdmXBfFC7pqcDLZOU8ZFMrTD_uj3AVbO8-QRYqZ2AdbLBSwYxr_tQLLiPDQIYT_ldlpXvkEE4v7omYwPW2WHQZ0n/s1600/Orc+troops+one.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="534" data-original-width="1102" height="155" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEEgOVTWJ3d3ymoIHox8xZnp6xwCc_Y9sZfLVUQTNQDNv8Kpj2Yy3JKdmXBfFC7pqcDLZOU8ZFMrTD_uj3AVbO8-QRYqZ2AdbLBSwYxr_tQLLiPDQIYT_ldlpXvkEE4v7omYwPW2WHQZ0n/s320/Orc+troops+one.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I also feel the need to re-iterate my love for these old models, each with their own uniqueness. I was pleasantly surprised to find the drummer's drum is made from a stretched gobbo hide, which adds a little charm. <br />
<br />
A mix
of Kevin Adams and the Perry twins with one White Hand LOTR Orc that I'm
not sure who designed probably one of the Perry's or Morrison's.<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Showing off their artistic side. Its difficult for an Orc to create a face uglier then his own.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Last a couple more Trolls. Both are from Heartbreaker. The one on
the right is from their Magic the Gathering line, the other is from
their later Tim Prow line I think but mine I picked up with the recent
Kev Adams/Tim Prow kickstarter run by Impact! Miniatures and is cast in a
plastic/resin similar to fine cast.<br />
